The popular Love Drogheda Family Fun Days are returning for summer 2024. This year Love Drogheda BID will host four bumper free family fun days on West Street; May 25th for World Play Day, June 21st to 23rd as part of the Boyne Midsummer Festival, July 27th and finally August 24th. Expect to see facepainting, balloon modelling, music, circus performance plus the return of some of our favourite characters.
Kicking off May 25th to celebrate World Play Day, you can expect a visit to Drogheda by some of the characters from Toy Story, with some extra special friends as well as balloon modelling. Facepainting, bubbles and more. For World Play Day, Love Drogheda BID have partnered with the Drogheda Library who are opening up their Sensory Room for those who may need a quieter space to play or needs to take a break from the noise and crowds.
Aimed at increasing the dwell time on Saturday afternoons, making the town more attractive for families to spend time in and driving an increase in footfall for the businesses, the town activation project is in its 3rd year and marks the start of summer events in Drogheda. Taking place between 12pm and 4pm, the free family entertainment has been proven in the past to increase the dwell time on West Street, extending the busy period farther into the afternoon.
