Love Drogheda BIDs are proud to be the sponsors of the most recent initiative to support Drogheda’s Evening and Night-Time Economy, the Drogheda Comedy Festival, the latest addition to Drogheda's growing festival calendar.
The Comedy Festivals is the latest of numerous festivals and events that Love Drogheda have supporting in Drogheda, such as the Lú Festival of Light, the Boyne Valley Trails walking festival, St Patricks Day Festivals, The Boyne Valley International Film Festival and more. The Drogheda Comedy Festival will take place from 8th-10th March and will feature a jam-packed schedule taking place in Drogheda’s top venues.
Co-ordinated by Mark Davies, Drogheda’s dedicated Night-time Economy Advisor, in partnership with Louth County Council, Avery Talent and sponsored by Love Drogheda BID and Guinness, the Comedy Festival will see some of Ireland’s best -loved comedians take to the stage in venues throughout Drogheda bringing you a weekend full of laughs.
Speaking at the launch in Weavers, in which comedians Karl Spain and Barry Murphy gave us all a taste of the laughter to come, cracking jokes and declaring how delighted they were that a comedy festival was coming to Drogheda for what the organisers hope will be the first of many annual comedy festivals.
The festival will bring a show-stopping line-up of comedians including Jason Bryne, Deirdre O’Kane, Enna Doran, John Colleary, Sinead Quinlan and many more. Festival partners Droichead Arts Centre are also hosting a community program linked with the comedy festival which will bring workshops and training to young people and minority groups and offer them the chance to learn how to be a stand-up comedian.
We want to thank all the venues that are taking part in the festival, the organisers and sponsors as well as the comedians who will be bringing some laughter to Drogheda.
