Love Drogheda BID, as part of a delegation of business representatives, community leaders and elected representatives Fergus O'Dowd & Ged Nash), were delighted to meet and present a series of short and medium term proposals to An Taoiseach, Simon Harris.
The grouping acknowledged the challenges that Drogheda currently face, however the meeting was forward focused on helping Drogheda achieve its unbridled potential as an Urban Growth centre through support for positive initiatives including the next steps on a proposal for the creation of a taskforce that could transform the town.
Trevor Connolly, Love Drogheda BID CEO stated that “Prior to the meeting Love Drogheda BID sought engagement and support from a variety of business, community groups and the local authority who all had a positive input and now is the time to put partnership and collaboration to the forefront. The local authority, elected representatives, business and community sectors partnership will be vital in delivering positive change!”
In a joint statement, the local group, that included Love Drogheda BID, Drogheda and District Chamber and Drogheda City Status, said that the meeting was 'positive in all aspects' and they were greatly encouraged by the engagement. We look forward to the next steps on this exciting journey for Drogheda.
