The Love Drogheda Gift Card hit a milestone this week reaching €500,000 in gift card sales.
The program launched in early 2022 is managed by Love Drogheda BID as part of a shop local initiative. The program operates at 0% commission and with no sign-up fees to the businesses meaning every euro spent in Drogheda with the Love Drogheda gift card is retained in the local economy- sustaining and supporting local employment whilst celebrating and championing the unique businesses in our town.
The gift card is currently accepting in over 220 businesses in Drogheda ranging from independent businesses to large brand-name retailers. Sales continue to be boosted through our weekly “Where To Spend It Wednesday” campaign across social media, which gives us the opportunity to showcase the variety of businesses that accept the gift card, as well as spotlighting a different business each week.
The Love Drogheda gift card makes for an incredible gift for loved-ones or as a thank you to staff, since it falls under the Small Benefits Exemption Scheme meaning a gift of up to €1000 per staff member can be made via gift cards tax free each year.
