Drogheda ratepayer organisation, Love Drogheda BID (Business Improvement District) is pleased to announce the successful completion of its Flower Grant Initiative for 2024,aimed at enhancing the attractiveness of the town centre. The initiative, which saw a commitment of €7,000 from the organisation, has significantly contributed to the beautification and vibrancy of the town centre.
Since its inception the Love Drogheda Flower Grant has grown from a handful of participants to over 40businesses applying for the grant, showcasing the widespread enthusiasm and support for this project. The Flower Grant Initiative operates on a shared funding model where the BID contributed per window box or hanging basket and the ratepayer contributes the balance. With most businesses installing 2 or more stunning floral displays, it now means that Drogheda has over 100additional floral displays adding a splash of colour and charm to the town centre and supplementing the street flower displays put in place by Louth County Council. This and various other initiatives are part of Love Drogheda's continuing efforts to present our town in the best possible light. Despite some set backs of late, it is imperative that our town strives to put its best foot forward at every opportunity.
Love Drogheda BID is proud to have partnered with our ratepayer members on this initiative and looks forward to continuing its efforts to support and enhance the town's appeal. Over the past four and half years since the establishment of Love Drogheda BID we have dedicated approximately €24,000 to the Flower grant, benefiting close to 40 businesses every year.
