The Love Drogheda Gift Card is increasing its card loading limits, meaning customers can load more onto a single card. The Love Drogheda Gift Card, which is a town-wide multistore card can now be loaded onto both physical and digital cards up to a value of €750 per card online or instore at the Love Drogheda BID office located on Meatmarket Lane.
This increase is in line with the changes announced in Budget 2025 to the Small Benefit Exemption Scheme which allows businesses to gift tax-free rewards in the form of gift cards or vouchers. The scheme allows up to 5 gifts with a combined total of €1500 annually to be gifted to each employee tax-free and the Love Drogheda Gift card qualifies for this scheme. With the new increases in card load limits, it will be easier for businesses to benefit from the Small Benefit Exemption Scheme and gift rewards for their staff members using the Love Drogheda Gift Card, saving a possible €2000 in relevant taxes if the same bonus were to be put through payroll per employee.
The Love Drogheda Gift Card is a “shop local” project put in place by Love Drogheda Business Improvement District (BID) to support local businesses and jobs and retain as much spend in the local economy as possible.
