Love Drogheda BID are delighted to welcome the creation of the new Pilot Evening and Night-Time Economy post with Louth County Council. This position will assist in the strategic co-ordination of evening time activities and ensure that Drogheda is a safe and vibrant destination. The pilot will look at safety, accessibility, variety of offer, sense of place, promotion, and co-ordination of activities.
By creating this new role, Louth and Drogheda will add value to the evening and night time economy of the town by clearly identifying what we have on offer, identifying our USP, coordinating our promotion, reducing duplication in messaging, calculating the value of activities to the local economy and by bringing a new and long lasting structure and cohesiveness to the management of our town after 5pm. Drogheda is alive during the day, as well as in the evening. A hugely important aspect of the role will showcasing the broad variety of offerings that are catered for in the town after 5pm.
This is another positive news story for the town of Drogheda with the future development of the Port Access Northern Cross Route and the ongoing public realm works across the town together with its designation as a Tourism Destination Town for Ireland's Ancient East.
