Drogheda has continued its upward trajectory in the latest IBAL (Irish Business Against Litter) litter rankings, rising once again into the top 20 for cleanliness.
Graded "Clean to European Norms" Drogheda has made huge efforts in tackling its litter and cleanliness since an unhappy bottom-of-the-league result in Summer 2022. Since then, residents associations, Tidy Towns committees, volunteers, council, the TUS team and the business community has rallied together to keep Drogheda looking its absolute best. A social media campaign "Looking Good Drogheda" was launched and a series of projects undertaken including a new community mural at Ballsgrove, a reinvigoration of volunteer litter picks, additional planting across the town and trojan efforts by the Drogheda TUS team including laneway clear-ups, power-washing and increased litter collections.
Drogheda now sits halfway up the table, a massive jump since our 39/40 place in 2022. Congratulations should be given to every business owner, resident and volunteer that have pitched in and helped add to the latest result. there is still improvements to be achieved and if the combined efforts of all involved have gotten us this far, lets keep the momentum going and continue to improve.
