The proponents of LOVEDROGHEDA believe that the future prosperity and well being of Drogheda City is very much dependent on the ability of its people to work together. Many of the projects we are proposing are dependent on groups of people in Drogheda coming together and collaborating.
It is a proven fact that towns and cities that collaborate, are economically and socially vibrant, attract inward investment and funding, are progressive and places that people want to make home.
Many of the projects proposed will involve the BID company and rate payers working together with many organisations in Drogheda and collaborating to make the projects happen. This means conducting business in a positive, respectful and constructive manner.
Love Drogheda BID have been dedicated to improving the look of the town and making it a more attractive, more inviting place to live, shop and work. An attractive town centre encourages visitors to spend more time and thus boost the footfall and economy.
The town dressing has included road signage, Louth county and Irish flag bunting, a flowering project dedicated to assisting businesses with the cost of flowering their business, attractive parklets and coming-soon new dedicated lamppost banners.
These efforts in conjunction with the increased bin collection, new street artwork, TUS team litter picks and the Looking Good Drogheda campaign, along with countless other efforts have helped to improve key areas in Drogheda and make them more attractive. These initiatives will continue with respect to special events such as Irish Flag bunting to cheer on the Ireland team at the Rugby World Cup and preparing the town for the upcoming Lu Festival of Light.
